Nitanshi Goel to Make Cannes Film Festival Debut: 17-year-old Nitanshi Goel, who made a mark with her remarkable portrayal of Phool Kumari in Laapataa Ladies, will be debuting at the prestigious 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025. She will become the youngest Indian actress to walk the red carpet for L'Oréal Paris, which has been the official beauty partner of the festival for 28 consecutive years.

Nitanshi on Her Cannes Debut

Sharing her excitement about debuting at Cannes, Nitanshi said: “I came into this industry with dreams of making an impact. From the incredible journey of Laapataa Ladies to now standing on a global platform at Cannes — I feel like I’m getting closer to those dreams. I represent every Indian girl who dares to dream big and is willing to go all out to achieve them. It is truly a proud moment to represent such girls on the global stage. Other Indian Celebrities at Cannes 2025

Before Nitanshi, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela also made waves at the 78th Cannes Film Festival with her appearance, drawing a lot of attention. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt, who was also set to debut this year, has currently postponed her appearance.

In addition to Nitanshi, several other prominent Indian personalities are expected to appear at Cannes this year: 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the former Miss World and Bollywood actress, will grace the red carpet once again, continuing her presence at Cannes for over 20 years.

Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and filmmaker Karan Johar will also attend the event for the screening of their film Homebound.
Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore will be present for the screening of Satyajit Ray’s classic Aranyer Din Ratri.
Acclaimed filmmaker Payal Kapadia, director of All We Imagine as Light, is part of this year’s Cannes jury.

Now, all eyes are on how Nitanshi Goel will capture global attention with her unique presence and confidence on the red carpet, making her mark on the international stage.
